World-renowned writer-producer-Director of Photography, Alex Buono will be championing the merits of shooting video with HD-DSLRs. Oscar Award-nominee (for his short film, Johnny Flynton), Buono is perhaps best known as the man responsible for the new Saturday Night Live opening sequence - shot entirely with the Canon 5D.

Buono will be discussing his experiences working with the legendary Saturday Night Live cast and crew. He will also be speaking of his work as a cinematographer and will be presenting an overview of the new Canon C300.

ABOUT ALEX BUONO

As DOP for Saturday Night Live, Buono shoots the show’s title sequence and the hilarious commercial parodies with Canon's 5D and 7D cameras.  He has continued his experimentation with Canon DSLRs as the 2nd Unit director/DP of the pilot for the ABC drama series Detroit 187. Most recently, he shot the network debut of the new Canon C300 - an SNL parody commercial, Chantix. He’s also an Oscar-nominated producer of short films. And, as a cinematographer, he’s a fan of DSLRs and lectures their use in film.
